Meet Taryn Baird! Taryn is a Toronto-based dance artist, educator, and arts leader who thrives on blending athleticism with artistry. A specialist in teaching Acro, she’s known for bringing dynamic, high-energy movement to the studio and stage with just the right balance of technique, creativity, and care. Taryn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance from Toronto Metropolitan University and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Arts Leadership at Queen’s University. Her professional journey has taken her across Canada and the U.S., performing in commercial productions, concert stages, and community-driven projects alike. Whether opening Canada’s Walk of Fame for Avril Lavigne, tumbling for SickKids at On The Floor’s Gala, or improvising under twinkling mall lights for the Eaton Centre holiday show, Taryn brings passion and precision to every performance. She’s also proud to have choreographed for emerging showcases including Chapters, TMU Dance Pack, and the Upcycled Fashion Show…always with an eye toward storytelling and empowerment. In addition to her work as a performer and choreographer, Taryn is a familiar face at dance competitions across the country, cheering on the next generation with heart. Her classes are grounded in strength, self-expression, and the belief that every dancer has something important to say whether upside down or right side up.
