Emilia Ballester Diaz

Emilia is a passionate Mexican dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director based in Toronto. A graduate of Centennial College’s Dance Performance Program, her stage work spans Mexico and Canada, with credits including La Fábrica de Santa, Dorian Gray El Musical, La Bella Durmiente and Parade.  Emilia’s choreographic work includes The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Jekyll & Hyde, and she made her directorial debut with Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, all with Doctor Bird Productions. She also choreographs for Singing Out, Toronto’s largest 2SLGBTQIA+ choir and recently choreographed her first Fringe Festival Show Don't Fall In. In 2025, she founded Tonalli Dance Productions, a dance production company uplifting Latinx voices and blending Contemporary and Musical Theatre to celebrate belonging, identity, and cultural connection.
